Named after the hill it sits upon, Pukematu Lodge is elevated high above 9 acres of native bush adjacent to the Russell township, overlooking the Bay of Islands.  You will be amazed with the breathtaking views offered in all directions that invite you to gaze upon the natural beauty of this special place.

We promote bird life including Kiwi, Tui, Kereru, Weka, Pheasant and Quail that wander freely foraging around the area of Pukematu Lodge. Having released Kiwi in our surrounding bush we welcome the sounds and night call of our endemic national symbol that can be heard from time to time though-out the night. Another endangered bird the Weka can also be seen as their numbers are now increasing in this area. This is a magical place to base yourselves while visiting and vacationing in Russell and the beautiful Bay of Islands.
